If you close your eyes and think of the word fire pit you will probably see rust, or burnt out steel frames of what used to be a nice fire pit! Not if you owned the UniFlame WAD820SP. This is not your average fire tub. It is made of both marble and slate! You will be the envy of any neighbor once they see how beautiful and elegant your fire pit is.
Uniflame WAD820SP Fire Pit Details
One of the many benefits to this pit is the 1 year limited warranty. You do not find this with many other fire pits. When a company can stand up for a product that literally has to hold flames and high heat as its job you know you have a quality product. UniFlame did not skimp on size. This fire pit is 34 inches in diameter and weighs roughly 58 pounds. This allows you to move it if you want to but also insures it will not just tip over with the smallest wind.
The fire bowl itself is 22 inches in diameter and made of solid black porcelain. To give it a really nice finishing look the fire bowl is surrounded by slate and marble. The pit also includes a heavy steel grate to hold your wood up and allow air flow to keep your flames going with little tending required. If you do need to start or tend to your flames there is an easy lift spark arrestor and a wrought iron stand also included in the fire pit.
UniFlame Slate & Marble Fire Pit Review
This fire pit is perfect for the people who love wood burning fireplaces but do not have one inside their home. With an outdoor fireplace you do not have to worry as much about ashes, smoke, or about catching the carpet or appliances on fire. It is just big enough for 4 logs to be put into the pit, but if you would like larger flames and a longer lasting fire I would recommend starting off with 3 logs. You can always add on to the fire later if it is required. We have also found the 3 logs are much easier to start the fire than when we have tried to get brave and add an additional log. This was not a pleasant experience for either of my in-laws.
I recommended this Uniflame fire pit for my in-laws and thought they would be able to use it almost year round since they live just outside of Memphis. Little did I know the weather down there can still get a little rough in the winter, and it rains all summer long. I did not tell them to get a cover for it and for this reason the marble got extremely dirty. Luckily a good washing was all it took all right off.
The legs to the pit actually have rubber feet but there is no way to adjust the height. Although the assembly was very easy we did have to rotate the legs until all four of them were touching the ground at the same time. Once that was done there was little else to struggle with.
