Fire Pit Details
The smaller version (Big Sky) comes with a wide range of cutouts for that ambience people have come to expect when purchasing an Landmann pit. The stars and moon cut out design (pictured) is the most popular, but other options include wildlife, a Western theme as well as trees and leaves. There is 397 square inches of burn surface with a large 23.5 inch diameter bowl.
The Big Sky fire pit weighs 42 pounds and has the outer dimensions of 29.2 x 29.2 x 17 inches. The steel constructed pit also comes with a full-diameter safety ring but will require tiles, or gravel to rest on before usage.
If you are in need of a little larger fire bowl Landmann has produced the Super Sky Fire Pit. This one is also equipped with a sturdy steel construction for long lasting durability and nice sand paint finish. With a pit measuring 40 x 40 x 23 inches and 61 pounds Landmann made transport easier by installing 40” diameter bowl with handle. Also the 962 square inch burning surface will warm
any area up in a hurry.
Landmann Super Sky and Big Sky Fire Pit Reviews
My sister’s neighborhood actually went in together and bought the Super Big Sky. They have been using it for several years in the center of their cul-de-sac for weekend get together. The first time I was invited over I was simply amazed at how large of an area this pit kept warm, and just how much light came off the flames. It was easy to keep a decent amount of light in the surrounding area for the kids to circle the street on their bikes and have no issue seeing. This pit has helped to bring the whole neighborhood together.
Both the Big Sky and the Super Big Sky are wonderful fire pits. One of the simplest ways to draw attention to the beauty of the fire pit is the cut out shapes to these pits. At first I was concerned that fire embers and wood chunks could escape in these cut outs but was very pleasantly surprised by this not being an issue at all. Landmann provides many different colors and cut out options to really make
these pits your own.
Because they are made out of steel and sand panted they last a long time. Although if you purchase a cover for your pit they should last longer, but even uncovered in harsh winters there should be little rust or damaged to the pit itself.
Assembly of these pits will be fairly easy. The hardest thing about putting these grills together will be the round ring bar for protection. A rubber mallet and an assistant would help this get done quickly and with little issue.
These pits will heat up fast, and stay hot. It is very important to follow any guidelines when it comes to the placement of these pits. Do not keep close to your home as they will burn siding, and if you keep on grassy spots that too will burn.
