Simple and sleek; CobraCo’s Diamond Mesh Fire pit might be rather basic but it gets the job done well. With so many companies constantly competing to grab customers attention with flash and needless add ons, CobraCo kept this one basic and have provided their customers with a durable, long lasting fire pit.

42 pounds of sturdy steel construction provides a durable product that is also very portable. This is extremely important for campers, or neighborhood party goers. The CobraCo Diamond Mesh Fire Pit includes built in risers for maximum air flow, a wire screen to restrict flying embers, as well as a vinyl cover that extends the pits life by preventing rain or leaves from entering the unused pit. Also, a very handy 5 inch wide table edge surrounding the pit allows a place for drink and snacks, and helps keep children from touching the warm steel when lit.
CobraCo Diamond Mesh Fire Pit Review
A great feature to this pit is its size. Although small enough to be portable, at 39 x 39 x 14 inches it is large enough to fix even larger firewood. This will come in handy during camping trips. Being able to purchase local wood and not have to chop it up in to smaller pieces saves time and much needed energy. Also due to the size you can surround your wood with as much new paper or fire starters you want. I have never seen my brother-in-law use more than one match to light his Diamond Mesh Fire Pit.
I am also happy to see the surface ring installed around the pit. This pit has a full 5 inches all around base to place tools, snacks, and drinks. It is a wonderful feature that is used much more than I thought it would be. At times I even have thought about ways to add this feature to my own much loved fire pit, but its design will not allow it.
The CobraCo FB8008 fire pit is absolutely solid. From the tips of the stand to the top of the lid’s handle you do not have to worry about breakage, or wobble. There is no way this pit is going to fall over. It is extremely sturdy, and allows superior air flow due to the diamond mesh.
Although I was a little enamored by this pit I was advised that it took my brother-in-law almost an hour to put together. That is a lot of time for a fire pit. I am not sure if it was operator error or if all the black parts made it a little harder to tell what went where and how to line them up. Some of the edges of the legs were rather sharp and I was told to make sure there was a lot of light and a second pair of hands to help if I were to purchase this fire pit in the future. The good news is once you assemble the pit once it will last for years with little to no up keep required.
